My first memory is my sister inside a car and I am on the outside... waving over her, cousins, uncle and aunt as they left for their ten days vacation.

My sister was chosen.  I was rejected.

The next few years were full of fear, pain, and abuse.

From leaving me alone in a locked bathroom to fend myself for 4-8 hours a day - as a first grader - with only tap water and the order to behave and be quiet and not cry too much...

... to be abandoned by my dad at a desert beach...

... to be woken up abruptly at midnight only to be beaten badly...

... to be thrown cold water on my face to wake up in the mornings...

... to the most fearful nights - when my parents fought (which happened A LOT when I was a kid).  I knew what those night meant, and it was nothing good.

Finally, my mom rescued me and I went to live to the US.

 

 

 

 

As a teenager, my parents divorced and I did EVERYTHING I could think of to understand why.

My dad left.

My mom overworked.

So I gave up and went off to escape.

Leaders like Mother Theresa and Nelson Mandela had deeply impacted me as a child, and so I wanted to be John C. Maxwell; desiring to make a difference with people who want to make a difference, doing something that makes a difference.

BUT... that required a few skills.

Soooo.... I went with plan B.

 

While in college, I had a choice to finish a computer science career making good money... or to continue entrepreneurship as a business owner in Miami, Florida - for unknown money -  $ ??? per year.

"If you don't build your own dream someone else will hire you to help build theirs." said a teacher.  It got me thinking about my future, and what my plans for it might be.

I picked the business owner option.

I got married, had 2 beautiful children and the promises came true.

Achieved "success".  Enjoyed "freedom".  Was "happy".  In other words, I worked with celebrities, traveled the world, got the luxuries, and more.

Then divorce hit.

Became homeless overnight.

Again,  I felt abandoned and rejected.

It was at this lowest point in my life that I decided to not just build another business,  but build a better me first.

I committed my life to Christ, and that faith has been most important to me ever since.

I took all the time, resources, mental effort and physical energy to try change by myself.  Then, I realized that I needed extra support.

"If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." this statement by Isaac Newton captured my attention. 

I decided to use the understanding gained by major thinkers who have gone before in order to make intellectual progress.

I began meeting with speakers, authors, coaches, mentors, consultants, advisors, world leaders, global celebrities, public figures, health experts.

At the same time,  I wanted to be a role model for my children, and demonstrate by example that with determination and hard work, everything is possible! 

So, it was a win-win.

I was thinking better, feeling better, acting better and getting results better. And I was creating a legacy by transferring the wisdom to them.

The 20th leader I reached out was John C. Maxwell.  John is an author, speaker, and pastor who has written many books in over 50 different languages, primarily focusing on leadership.

By this time, my hunger had grown - I had 700 days in the search!

"Success is about you, significance is about others... Once you taste significance, success will never satisfy you."

John ended his presentation on a challenge,  "There are people in your life that you love, that you need to let them know how much you love them because you don't know if they're going to be here tomorrow."

But then he paused.  I was intrigued.  Then there was silence.  "Some of them you're not in good standings with."

And then he added, "Take the high road, where I'll treat you well regardless of how you treat me."

ALL I could think about was my Dad.

I didn't see him for years.

"If you love someone, the greatest gift you can give them is your presence."  And I could feel every beat of my heart...

At the end of John's talk, I decided to reach out my dad.

I was going to do whatever it took to have a relationship with him.  I felt like this was my last chance for a reconciliation. 

Determined to meet him again, I hopped into a plane and traveled to Dominican Republic to meet him.

He was as speechless as I had been as we hugged each other...

And although he was my father, he rarely hugged me as a child.

I was surprised.

About an hour later, I got a few words in the encounter with my dad.

"I'm sorry for the father I've been.

Here you are being a good son, doing things right, having an impact on people's lives, and I wasn't a good enough father in your life when you were a child.  I don't deserve this... Thank you for being here now..."

And he told me that he loved me.

My dad and I were crying.

The power of ONE man on ONE event for ONE hour changed everything in my life!

That was the day I dedicated my life to growth and contribution.

Grow myself, transform lives, and make the world a better place.

I got several certifications, went to several events, studies several books,  hired several mentors, attended several mastermind and experienced several retreats.  Eventually, I wrote my first book, did my first live event, got my first TV interview, gave my first bilingual speech, got my first client, started my first group... and more.

That was good, but not great.  I wanted to reach even more people and decided to work with experts, leaders, influential people... those who help others.

I decided that my primary focus was not going to be on achievement, income, or freedom... but more on meaning, impact and fulfillment.  In other words, it was not going to be based on how much money we can make, but how many people we can touch...

I wanted to make a difference with people who want to make a difference, doing something that makes a difference, and at a time that makes a difference.

And, in 2015, it was time to impact more people.  It was a time to mark lives globally, so I started "Impact with Influence" under ASK.ME to share our system - the Idea to Impact Method - with more people.

It was time to help YOU.

Today, my dad is remarried - and is an amazing "father" to over five hundred children at his Youth's Christian Ministry, and my kids love him!  I understood his own childhood, we forgave each other, and we repaired our relationship.  All because of 1 man, 1 event for 1 hour.

In 2017 - History was created and recorded.  I interviewed my dad about his life, his lessons, and his legacy!

 

It was a transformational experience!
